Remote Workers Require Notice
Employees working remotely still need the same legal notices as those on-site. The DOL has just updated their guidance - it's an interesting read.
While the DOL rules address Federal notices, it's important to remember that states have their own notice requirements.
So, all of that considered, how well are you replicating the well-trafficked break room notice boards?
Some ideas for staying compliant:
- Set updates and reminders as backgrounds for computer login pages.
- Update your company intranet and regularly communicate where notices and policies can be found.
- Require updated acknowledgments electronically through your HRIS.
- Make sure information is provided and acknowledgment is included in new hire on-boarding.
